BETH NIELSEN CHAPMAN

Beth Nielsen-Chapman has written hits for Tanya Tucker, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride and Willie Nelson and dozens more. Her career is expansive and storied.

Beth’s personal life is just as twisting and turning- moving all over the world with her four brothers and sisters. Her father’s career as an Air Force Major took them all over the States, then to Germany, then finally back to the US where they eventually settled in Montgomery, Alabama.

By this time, she had learned to play guitar and piano- her love of music had taken root, and she was writing and performing her own songs. As a child and teenager, her influences included James Taylor, Carole King, Hoagy Carmichael, and Tony Bennett.

Eventually, Beth made her way to Nashville, and has earned a reputation as an exceptional performer and songwriter.

She wrote the song "Sand and Water" from her album of the same title after the death of her husband, and many admired the depth and raw feelings from which it came.

Elton John performed this song during his 1997 world tour. The song was featured on the episode "Sand and Water" in Season 7 of ER (2000), as well as in the Season 1 episode "Dead Man Dating" of the TV series Charmed in October 1998.
